[00:00:18] Speaker A: Well, good morning, everybody, and welcome to the October edition, the Chamber Chat. [00:00:21] Speaker B: Yes, I wore my fall colors. [00:00:23] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. This is our favorite time of the year, right? [00:00:25] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:00:26] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. [00:00:27] Speaker B: I mean, it's 90 degrees out, and I'm still here with a sweater hanging [00:00:32] Speaker A: on to summer with my sort in between here with my quarter lip sleeves. So, you know, I'm just. We've got so many things coming up. Yes. [00:00:42] Speaker B: But you have to tell us just a little bit about the Governor's Conference. [00:00:46] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. What do you mean, the Governor's Conference? I've been to two Governor's Conferences. I've been to the Governor's Conference on Tourism and the Governor's Conference on Economic Community Development. I am worn out. But we have so much fun. They keep us busy from morning to night, and we learn so much. But I can't wait to share that with everybody in the. In the future and. But not this morning on the program. [00:01:08] Speaker C: No. [00:01:08] Speaker B: But you had a good time. [00:01:09] Speaker A: Oh, we had so much time because. So much fun time. We not only learn stuff, but they. They treat us to all kinds of fun stuff. I mean, when I was in Galan's on Fun. Oh, my goodness. So after hours, you know, they give us, like, these free passes. I mean, you know me. I love free. [00:01:25] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:01:26] Speaker A: And so, I mean, I got to do just about everything in Gatlinburg for free. I just had my little pass, and they go, just get on. So I was like, so you imagine how exhausted I was. So I loved it. I'm talking about the fun stuff more than stuff I learned. But we. We learned that DeKalb County's in the. I don't even know what it means yet. The. The gov. The governor was talking about it. He has a top 40% hat. And. And the commissioner was talking about it. But we're on the list. I know. It's good. [00:01:54] Speaker B: Hey, if we're on the good list, [00:01:55] Speaker E: we're on the good list. [00:01:56] Speaker A: So I was like, they said, please stand. [00:01:58] Speaker B: Must be doing something right. [00:01:59] Speaker A: I know. I was like, oh, me just. [00:02:02] Speaker B: Well, we're glad to have you back. We've missed you on your. All your gallivant. [00:02:06] Speaker A: Oh, I've got one more conference to go to, and so anyway. And then I'll just be back to regular work. But let me tell you, when I get back into town. Oh, my word. The work is still there, Jen. It doesn't magically disappear just because I'm not here. So anyway. But I had a good time. Thanks for asking. [00:02:25] Speaker D: And. [00:02:25] Speaker A: But you Know, I get all excited about new members. [00:02:28] Speaker D: Yes. [00:02:28] Speaker A: I have another new member. And this is Edward Jones and Company. [00:02:32] Speaker B: Okay. [00:02:33] Speaker A: And this is. Okay. I love it. You know, all our local chamber members, [00:02:37] Speaker F: I love, love, love. [00:02:39] Speaker A: But my last two have been from out of town. [00:02:41] Speaker B: Well, we love that, too. They see us as opportunity, which we see us as opportunities. [00:02:48] Speaker F: We are. [00:02:49] Speaker A: I'm so grateful. But Edward Jones Co. Is located at 16 Liberty Square in Sparta. The financial advisor is Joshua King, and you can call him at 931-837-7771. And it's never too early or. [00:03:06] Speaker B: Absolutely right. And his. His name, ironically. [00:03:11] Speaker A: What? [00:03:12] Speaker B: He joined the Chamber, and then he sent me a friend request on Facebook and on LinkedIn on Instagram. I'm like, oh, he's doing it right. [00:03:21] Speaker A: He is doing it right. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Trying to reach out to all the folks. [00:03:24] Speaker A: Well, he's gonna go on social media today. [00:03:28] Speaker B: Welcome aboard, Joshua. Thank you for joining the Chamber. [00:03:30] Speaker A: Yes. And hopefully he'll be a guest. I was wanting to be here this morning. He couldn't, but maybe the November. I'd love to meet him in person. Yeah. Y plus, I'll have to. I'll be driving over to Sparta soon. So from Ascension, St. Thomas de Kalb, one of my favorite people, the administrator Isaac Heller is here. Good morning, Isaac. [00:03:49] Speaker B: Good morning, Isaac. [00:03:50] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness, you've got so many updates from the hospital. But before we start, I gotta say congratulations to Dr. Cripps, who retired. We love Dr. Cripps, and I've got so many Dr. Cripps stories, I can't tell them on air. I've had, like, testimonials at different places and got to tell these stories. But he means a whole lot to me and my family, and I'm just so grateful for him. And hopefully his honey do list with his wife's not too much. [00:04:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Well, lots of people are asking, you know, oh, gosh, when's Will going to retire? And I'm like, what? He's not working, delady. I can promise you that. I mean, we all hate it for us that Dr. Chris has retired, but, I mean, good Lord, he deserves it. [00:04:38] Speaker A: He deserves it. He and his wife deserve it. So anyway, we're so grave on him. So tell us what fantastic things are going on at the hospital. [00:04:47] Speaker C: Yeah, well, that's a. That's a good segue. I. I haven't had a chance to work with Dr. Crips for very long, but I know just the nicest guy was really great about kind of telling me the history of, of the cab and medicine here and everything. Whenever, whenever I first arrived a little over a year ago and will definitely, definitely be missed. I know he's the, you know, so many people talk about how the care he provides and how good he is and how he could tell them things that were wrong, tell folks things that were wrong with them that nobody else could figure out. He is a genius, absolute genius. That's what I hear. So we'll definitely be missed. But we'll talk a little bit about primary care. It's one of the things I want to talk about. But the biggest thing is we just got through two weeks ago our triennial joint commission survey. It's behind us. So. [00:05:46] Speaker E: So for those, that's a lot of work. [00:05:48] Speaker C: It's a ton of work. So for those that don't know, every three years, those that are accredited and it's the, the primary accrediting body for hospitals in the United States and, and every three years, that's why it's triennial, we have a survey and they can actually, you know, the hospital. And so there's thousands of standards and within each of those standards there are multiple findings that they can, that you can have. So they look at everything to dust on sprinkler heads, to, you know, are you, are your outlets protected when they're a certain distance from, from a sink? They look at all your policies and procedures and are your, are your nurses and are your doctors policy? Are they. Do they have their competencies? And I mean they look at so many things, everything from paperwork to physical environment. And we got through that survey with. It's what's called a safer matrix and it's this nine box and it's where they put the findings. And so if you want to see, see that? It's pretty cool, you can look it up. But we had the cleanest safer matrix that I've ever seen. We had the cleanest safer matrix that our, our regional CEO, who has six hospitals has ever, has ever seen. Just a very, very clean safer matrix. Very, very few findings. The findings that we had were very minimal. And so just a testament to the hard work that's going on there. [00:07:25] Speaker B: Teamwork for sure. [00:07:26] Speaker A: You can breathe easy now. [00:07:28] Speaker C: We can. And it's something we just want to tell the world how the high quality care and the high quality physical environment and everything going on there at the cab and so exciting. We also, you know, on, on that note, we also received two national awards from Ascension. So Ascension wide, we were the most improved inpatient experience for Both our ER and our med surg unit. So. So when you. When you come to the cab, you can expect to have some excellent care. At Ascension St. Thomas de Cat. [00:08:04] Speaker A: We are driving for that. [00:08:04] Speaker B: We sure are. And, you know, you can feel it as a patient. You can feel whether. Whether you're surrounded by people who want to give you good care, who are. Who are competent and. But also receptive. And I. I say, hands down, Dekalb has had that because of the people who work there, but also because of that commitment to doing excellence. And so congratulations. I'm glad because as a patient, I have felt it, but now you have it on paper. [00:08:35] Speaker A: Well, know, Jen, that when my husband was in the hospital, I'm not sure he was ready to come home. [00:08:41] Speaker B: I know the food was great. He said they just. [00:08:44] Speaker A: They just babied him. I'm like, I can't follow that. [00:08:50] Speaker C: And, you know, I've been. A phrase I've been using lately is impressed but not surprised. Right? Like we are. I was. I was impressed by the work that everybody did. I was impressed by the improvement in consumer experience. But if you know the folks there, like you're saying, if you know the folks there, you're not. So you can't be surprised. Right? It's just the tip of the iceberg, and it's what we see every day. I see nurses going above and beyond for patients all the time. Just nurses doing things like, you know, if someone. A kid needs oxygen, well, there. And the kid's scared to put on an oxygen mask with a nurse. I saw a nurse in there the other day wearing oxygen mask and doing a puzzle with a. With a kid. You know, just. Just things like that. When you see it, you know, just in other ways I can't even mention. Right. Going above and beyond for patients, doing things that you wouldn't do unless you cared a lot. It's not just a job for. For our folks. It's. It's. It's a calling. And so, yeah, just can't go on. I could go on about that all day long, but we're grateful, you know, and so we want to equip them. We want to equip our team to do the best work possible. And so that's kind of where I want to talk about next comes into play is infrastructure upgrades. We're getting a new nuclear medicine camera. I know we've been talking about that for a while. It's still in the design phase, so we're working some things out on what do we need, you know, AC wise, because there's a heat yield to the machine in a certain room. And what we are looking to do is right now the stress test room is kind of far away from the nuclear medicine camera. And so we don't want patients to have to walk. So what we're looking at and kind of redesigning is how can we get the stress test area in the same area that the nuclear medicine machine is, where when you do your stress test, you don't have that far to go to the camera. So excited. Excited about that. It's a really, really nice camera. It's like the Cadillac. A nuclear medicine. [00:10:49] Speaker A: We'll be talking about that more later. [00:10:51] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. And so, you know, some. Some in investments and upgrades. Over a million dollars is going into the facility, and over 440,000 has gone into the facility. Things that aren't fun that nobody sees but that you have to do like sewer line work and new H VAC unit. If you go in the hospital right now, you might see some spot coolers. But there is a big plan, again, over a million dollars going into the hospital to get those out of there. Get everything cool, cool and, and get funny enough going into. When we're starting to. The temperature starting to drop. But next summer. [00:11:32] Speaker B: This summer. This summer has tested any H VAC system. I mean, it's been hot. [00:11:37] Speaker C: It's been. I'm afraid I brought Florida weather with me. [00:11:40] Speaker A: Yeah, right. [00:11:41] Speaker B: Isaac. [00:11:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:44] Speaker A: Put a whole new storm after here. [00:11:49] Speaker B: Oh, I think they did. [00:11:51] Speaker D: Look at him. [00:11:52] Speaker A: He looks so mild. [00:11:54] Speaker C: Yeah, I remember. I think there was a hurricane Isaac. Yeah, I don't think I, I. Yeah, it was interesting. But another thing you mentioned primary care and kind of how some of our primary care providers are retiring. Dr. Cripps. Well, Ascension wants to help with that. And so we plan to open a primary Care Clinic, a St. Thomas Medical Partners primary care clinic on campus in our medical office building. We plan to do that sometime in 2027. Don't have an exact date. Sometime around January is what we're targeting right now. And so just really excited about that for people who just, you know, kind of creating a campus where you can get really anything you need. Right. And so that's what we're focused on and excited about. Another. Another fun thing that's coming and is needed for the community is an infusion center. Absolutely. Yeah. And so we look forward to doing that. It will be an outpatient department of River Park. And so you might see it labeled river park, but it's in the building there at a Cab. And so just really excited. [00:13:03] Speaker B: That'd be great for patients. [00:13:05] Speaker C: Yeah, it will. It will. And so just trying to keep care close to home and make sure that people. People can get what they need right here. [00:13:12] Speaker A: I love that. Yes. Well, is that all you got this morning? [00:13:16] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. [00:13:18] Speaker C: Well, you let me say so much. [00:13:21] Speaker E: No. [00:13:22] Speaker B: We are so grateful to get that update. And the hospital is such a cornerstone of our community, and we are so grateful for the work you do, the work that Ascension Investments in Ascension is making into our. Into our hospital, because that's also into our community, and it means so much to us. [00:13:44] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure. [00:13:45] Speaker A: We're grateful. [00:13:46] Speaker C: Well, thank you. [00:13:47] Speaker A: And we love you, Isaac. [00:13:48] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, more come. There will be more updates and we [00:13:50] Speaker A: can see you next month then, huh? [00:13:52] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:13:53] Speaker C: Yes, ma'. [00:13:53] Speaker D: Am. [00:13:53] Speaker B: Sounds great. [00:13:54] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:13:55] Speaker B: Well, speaking of other great community partners, Smithville Fire department is having an open house. They are Saturday, October 10, from 9 to 12. And it's fun for the whole family. [00:14:08] Speaker A: Oh, it's so many things to do to have coffee. [00:14:12] Speaker B: So many things. So it's a morning event, 9 to 12. And you can tour fire trucks, meet the crew, learn about fire safety. The kids can even try on the gear. Part of this is to help promote for little ones. [00:14:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:32] Speaker B: When there's an emergency in their house and a fireman fight might. Firefighter might come in to the house looking. [00:14:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:14:42] Speaker B: For, you know, people that need to come out of the house. There are. There is. It is known that small children might look at the firefighter and see Darth Vader and hide from them. And so part of this is to educate kids on how to be fire safe, how to be aware of smoke safe, how to be knowledgeable about what a firefighter does and to not be afraid of them if they were in an emergency. So it's going to be a lot of fun, I'm sure. And the Smithville Fire Department, they know how to put on a party, but it also is educational. So we hope all the families come out and. And participate in that. [00:15:25] Speaker A: Well, the good thing about that date, October 10th. Randy Caldwell is here this morning. He's our spokesperson for downtown Smithfield and the owner of the Purple Door Antiques and Uniques. And. And you know, and not only Randy do we have the open house for the Smithfield Fire department, then it goes straight into the boy. [00:15:44] Speaker F: We got a lot of this Saturday. Got several things going on downtown town. So yeah, we'll have our seventh annual pumpkin festival. That'll be this Saturday. Do you have to say it 10 to 3. [00:15:55] Speaker B: Okay. Are we saying it wrong when we say pumpkin? [00:15:57] Speaker F: Pumpkin. I don't know. I didn't know there was any other pronunciation. Pumpkin. Okay. That's a new one on me. [00:16:04] Speaker A: He's fancy. [00:16:05] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:16:05] Speaker F: Yeah. So anyway, so there will be a free mini pumpkin patch. There'll be arts and crafts, there'll be food trucks, and of course, all the businesses will be open downtown during that time. So come and support that again. 7th Daniel. Takes a lot of work to be able to do that seven years in a row. It's a great. It's a great event. It's a great event for us businesses downtown. We benefit from it, but more so the community benefits from it. And who doesn't like free pumpkins, you know, so, so, yeah, get your kiddos out there and get, get, get your pup. Pumpkin or Pumpkin, one of the two. Whatever you play whatever you please in. [00:16:40] Speaker B: Well, as long as there's some of those. [00:16:41] Speaker F: Yeah, exactly. Kristen Camping will be there with her kids market at the festival. So that'll be at the same time at the same place. And that's an opportunity to register any of your local children that want to try running their own business. So a great little interesting concept. You know, back in my day, it was the paper boy. You were the paper. You did the paper route. Yeah, that was a great lesson in running a business. So now this is an opportunity. Those opportunities don't exist very often now. So the sooner you can get your kids into running a business, hey, I can guarantee you that's going to carry over into life lessons in the future. So really strongly consider that. You can contact Kristin [email protected] or you can visit our website double backsplash kids markets dot com. Backslash markets backslash Smithfield-4. That's a mouthful. So, so yes, try to get the kiddos out there for everything that's going on there as well. Also going on at the same time is the vintage owls presenting their fall French market. They do it in the spring as well. So he's doing this twice a year. If you haven't been to it. He really transforms that courtyard into something magical there. And of course it's going to have all the fall touch and will really neat finds. [00:18:00] Speaker B: I mean, he has some different boutiques. [00:18:02] Speaker F: Yeah. He's got some different vendors. [00:18:05] Speaker B: And so it's it, it's fun to poke around downtown. [00:18:08] Speaker F: Yeah. So you. [00:18:09] Speaker A: That's on fourth Street. [00:18:10] Speaker F: That's on Fourth Street. Yeah. The little courtyard there that I know, I see a lot of people take the prom pictures there chasing them are very kind enough to offer that for. For prom pictures or graduation pictures. So again, if you. This is the weekend to get in the fall. The spirit. Yeah. So everything's going to be decorated. So great opportunity there. Second, second annual spectacular pet parade will be October 23rd at 6pm that's on something that Rocky James does downtown. Our little pet boutique down there. If you didn't go last year, it was a great time. I had Shaggy, my big dog that looks like a Saint Bernard. He had the kissing booth, you know, so he gave a lot of kisses. So he might make another appearance, you know, in that same costume. So if you want to be. If you want to be slobbered on, he'll. He'll be happy. He'll be happy to accommodate you and you get your dog fixed with shaggy boys. So. So he'll. He'll be making an appearance there as well as many of the other dogs and pets in Smithville. So that's a really, really fun event. Would love to grow that every year and you know, last year was a good time, but let's try to grow that as a community. That's a fun event. Bring your kids down again. It's free. You know, I guarantee you they'll have a blast seeing all those. [00:19:22] Speaker B: All those. [00:19:22] Speaker F: You might even see a cat or two. I don't know. [00:19:25] Speaker B: It does say pet. [00:19:26] Speaker F: It does say pet. [00:19:27] Speaker A: Look at me signing a dog and a cat in the same area. [00:19:30] Speaker B: And a bird. Anyone got a bird? [00:19:34] Speaker F: Also something new that Button Willow is doing with Matt and Jessica, who are doing a fantastic job. [00:19:42] Speaker B: The transition has been seamless and then some. And they just added so much. [00:19:47] Speaker F: Yeah. And they're just, you know, looking at opportunities to do events down there. You know, during our art walk, they had the Baxter Jazz Band came in and played out of their little. Out of their little. They opened the windows in there and they played out. We had our other band on the other street. It was just a great, great environment and they' of ways just to do things like that for the community. But now the D.C. blitz is there, which is a local sports talk radio that's covered all the DCHS and DMS sports events. So they're there Saturday mornings. I know, I know is when I've seen them there because I'm always there that early to get my cup of coffee before I open the shop up so I get a chance to observe that. And that is at 9 o' clock in the morning. [00:20:29] Speaker A: You can watch it going on. [00:20:31] Speaker F: Yeah, I get to sit there and watch it going on. Yeah, so it's post football game. So sometimes you know, if they win it's a little happier. Sometimes it's losing, you know, it's still a positive, very positive show there. We got another new business downtown, Main Street Collective. So if you haven't had a chance to go down there, I'd love to [00:20:52] Speaker A: see the new businesses coming in. [00:20:54] Speaker F: Yeah, yeah, we got several new business going on there and of course then the big boo bash is October 30th. So a great event. Funny, I love seeing the kids come in their costumes and they are always so polite. [00:21:04] Speaker B: I mean they're asking in August when the Boo Bash is going to be. I mean this has to be one of the best downtown events. [00:21:11] Speaker F: Yeah. So that's from 2 to 5 and [00:21:13] Speaker A: it's going to be the day before hell. [00:21:14] Speaker B: It's going to be on a Friday. [00:21:16] Speaker F: On a Friday, Yeah. So there'll be more. You'll be talking more about that later. So we've got that other stuff on downtown and I don't know, I was looking to see if we were going to be on before November. But keep in mind the Christmas open house is going to be the 13th and the 14th, which is the second weekend of November. So all the businesses will be having that. And I'll have actually something extra to celebrate as well. Cuz the Purple Door will be celebrating five years that Janice and I started that event. We opened on the Chris on the Christmas Open house back in 2021. So that was when we first opened. So we might have a little something special in Janice. Janice's memory. [00:21:54] Speaker A: That's her sweetheart that. [00:21:55] Speaker F: So we miss her and keeping. Keeping her spirit going on at the shop. And we'll do something a little special to celebrate our five years. [00:22:03] Speaker A: And that's in November. [00:22:04] Speaker F: That's in November. [00:22:05] Speaker A: Okay. Oh, I got it on the calendar now. [00:22:08] Speaker F: So I think that's it for not that's not it for downtown. Come out, support the local businesses. You know, we really appreciate people coming out. Art Walk was a big success. We had a good crowd out there, some great artists, great bands. [00:22:22] Speaker B: I had to zip in and zip out because I also had the history hayride at that state park. But. But it looked fantastic. [00:22:28] Speaker F: The feedback we got from the artists, I think, I think a lot of them did really well. So. Which means they'll come back, you know. So again, appreciative to the community for getting out and supporting. Appreciative to all our sponsors that were here. DTC was Ascension was one my first bank was Center Hill Realty and so we had, we had some good sponsors this year and appreciate them doing it. We couldn't do that without that couldn't do without community support. [00:22:54] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:22:55] Speaker F: Well thank you. [00:22:56] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:22:57] Speaker A: Thank you Randy. [00:22:59] Speaker B: Yes. So just a couple of quick announcements. Yes. So people can get these dates on their calendar. De Cab Prevention Coalition is doing their fall drug take back day. That's Saturday October 24th from 10 to 2 they will be at the Walmart parking lot. [00:23:20] Speaker F: So just. [00:23:22] Speaker B: Yeah, at the Walmarts, the local Smithfield Walmart. [00:23:26] Speaker A: They'll see me there because I'm here every Saturday. I become an old person every Saturday we're like we're going through Walmart. No Walmart. [00:23:33] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:23:34] Speaker B: So just look for the tent outside the store and just a word of explanation. You do not need to, you don't have to remove the medicine. You don't have to. You can just throw the bottle in. Yeah, just throw the whole bottle in. You don't need to worry about anything it into a locked case. Right right there at the drop off and what, what the Cat Prevention Coalition this is a big partnership with several others organizations but DPC wants you to be thinking about unwanted expired or unused medicine. Doesn't have to be, it doesn't have to be. Prescription drugs can be anything. So this is a good time to be looking through your cabinets but also especially be thinking about if you've recently lost a loved one or someone has, is now at the nursing home and you have drugs at home. Be thinking about you know who might get into that a small child or you know this is a safe, a safe way to, to be able to get rid of those unwanted and not [00:24:53] Speaker A: only to get them out of your house and make it safer but also they will dispose of them in a way that does not affect the environment in a negative way. Don't throw them down your toilet, put them under sink. [00:25:03] Speaker B: Right. A lot of people think that that's getting rid of it but that really just circulates it back into some, some of them. But this is much, much safer way. And then so again that date is Saturday October 24th, 10am to 2pm and [00:25:18] Speaker A: then they're going straight to a foam party. Right. [00:25:21] Speaker B: And then our a fabulous party that is coming sponsored both by DeKay Prevention Coalition and the Kayaking Adventures Tennessee. Oh I love them. Monday October 12th which is Columbus Day. So a lot of people are off work that day. You can come downtown from 5:30 to 7 in the grassy area by Smithville Police Department right there in that corner. Registration is required, so scan a code on the DeKalb Prevention Coalition Facebook page. Food will be provided. It's a foam party. So. Big party. Yeah. You do have to register to participate, so make sure you're getting your. Your reservation in for that. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Well, Jen, since I cannot pronounce the next event coming up, I'm gonna give it to you also. [00:26:16] Speaker B: So Bert Driver. [00:26:19] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:26:20] Speaker B: Has been trying to get Hiroya Tsukamoto. [00:26:25] Speaker A: Tsukamoto. [00:26:26] Speaker B: To come to Smithville. He is. Is a fabulous world renowned guitarist. [00:26:33] Speaker E: Oh. [00:26:34] Speaker B: And he is Japanese and he does tell stories. He's a great storyteller. [00:26:39] Speaker A: You mean that's not a Tennessee name? I like it. [00:26:44] Speaker B: Hiroya has actually tours the world and he. He has. Bert has been trying to get him. [00:26:52] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:26:52] Speaker B: To Smithville for a long time. And American made for some. And so Smithville First United Methodist Church is going to host this event. It's Sunday, October 11th at 6pm but let me tell you. [00:27:06] Speaker A: Okay. [00:27:07] Speaker B: He starts Heroia starts at six. [00:27:09] Speaker A: Heroia starts at six. [00:27:11] Speaker B: But Larry Pinkerton, another really awesome, well known Nashville guitarist is going to start and open for him at 4:30. [00:27:22] Speaker A: Oh so early. [00:27:24] Speaker B: So from 4:30 to 5:45 you can hear Larry Pinkerton. And then starting at 6:00', clock, Hero Will, will begin. And this is open to the public. No ticket required. Free. We just hope people will come. If you have any interest in guitar or classical music that that can be combined with a southern flair with Larry, we, we really welcome everyone to come out again. That's next Sunday the 11th at 6pm [00:28:02] Speaker A: oh, we get all cultured. Well, the DeKalb County Fire Department Belk Station autumn celebrations coming up. Brother Chad is here and he's like the coco co host ghost. So we'll let you talk about that since I'm about to lose my voice. [00:28:17] Speaker E: There you go. So we just throwing it there. There we go. [00:28:20] Speaker A: About to grab water. [00:28:21] Speaker E: Yes, yes. We got the fire Belk station. They're doing their wonderful time Saturday, October 17th at 5pm over at the community center over there in Belk. Games, activities. Everybody loves free food. Who doesn't like free hot dog or popcorn, right? So you get to try on or at least go visit the fire engine. Fire Engine 66 it says here. Yeah. And just always cool, always fun to see the kids face light up when they get to see all of that. But also get to know the people who are there to fight for your community and serve your community as well too. [00:28:54] Speaker B: I really feel like fire Departments do a great job of opening the stations up to families to learn more because we are a volunteer fire department in DeKalb County. And so this is planting that seed. [00:29:11] Speaker A: Oh, that's what I'm thinking. Yeah. [00:29:13] Speaker B: Planting the seed of how important this is in our community. And maybe some of those kids will grow up and. And join the volunteer. [00:29:21] Speaker E: Yes, I'm sure one of them will tell them to change the batteries in their fire detectors. [00:29:25] Speaker B: Yes, that's right. [00:29:29] Speaker E: Fall back. [00:29:30] Speaker D: Yes. [00:29:31] Speaker A: Well, Dancing through the decades Adult prom. [00:29:33] Speaker B: Oh, also the Same day, Saturday, October 17th at 4pm this one's at 4pm [00:29:39] Speaker A: 4pm where is this? Is this at the county complex? Okay. [00:29:43] Speaker E: So is this where you take your date? You go, you go get the hot dog for your date afterwards, like in your prom dress? That's right, that's right, that's right. [00:29:52] Speaker A: Well, tickets are $30. [00:29:54] Speaker F: Well. [00:29:54] Speaker B: And they have done this before. They had a fabulous time. It was so much fun that they are doing basically just what it sounds like an adult prom. Dress up, have a good time. They'll have decorations. And it is is $30 per person or two for 50. And all proceeds are going to the last, last minute toy shop. [00:30:18] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:30:18] Speaker A: Oh, that's awesome. So get on your best formal. [00:30:21] Speaker B: That's right. [00:30:22] Speaker A: And just have some fun. And if you need more information, contact the Smithville Review. [00:30:27] Speaker B: Our favorite person, Angela. [00:30:29] Speaker A: Oh my goodness. Oh, we got our next guest here. [00:30:31] Speaker B: All right. [00:30:32] Speaker A: Katie Shick chick. [00:30:34] Speaker D: Yes, I got that right. [00:30:36] Speaker B: You're so good. [00:30:37] Speaker A: I know. Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity chili cook off and bake sale is coming up really soon. Yes. Can you tell us all about it? [00:30:47] Speaker D: Yes. So Friday, October 23rd, from 10:30 to 1. Of course we're gonna have the chili cook off and the bake sale. So we are so excited. We're even more excited because Habitat has started building into Cab County. [00:31:00] Speaker A: We saw the groundbreaking. [00:31:02] Speaker D: Yes, we had a groundbreaking a couple weeks ago. So of course money raised from this will go to supporting that build and also future builds. But that's just huge for us cuz it's our first build since our merge with Habitat of De Cab. So we're very excited. [00:31:15] Speaker A: It's been a great partnership. [00:31:16] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:31:17] Speaker D: Yes. We're so excited. But if you usually come to the chili cook off and you get your colored mug every year. [00:31:24] Speaker B: Yes. If you're watching on, our new color, [00:31:29] Speaker D: this year will be the purple mug. [00:31:31] Speaker A: I love that green. You're reaching for the purple. [00:31:33] Speaker B: Lovely. Or this is this year. [00:31:35] Speaker D: I believe green was last year. [00:31:37] Speaker B: Yeah, I think I have a couple of each. [00:31:40] Speaker E: Now you got to get a purple one. [00:31:41] Speaker B: I need a purple. Coming for the purple. [00:31:44] Speaker D: Awesome. That's. The mugs are $25, but there's also the foam bowl option that's $10. If you just want to come and eat real quick, get your foam bowl. [00:31:53] Speaker B: So I know this is a long tradition, but just so people know, we have teams that are local that are making their own chili recipes, special recipes. What you're purchasing is the opportunity to go around to all of the. Try all of them, try a little bit of each one and then go back with your bowl. And highly competitive. [00:32:18] Speaker E: Yes, highly competitive. [00:32:19] Speaker A: And they're all so good. I've never had any bad chili there. [00:32:22] Speaker B: I've had a. All that chilies. But, you know, it's all right. I'm particular. This one's too bland. That's what I usually say when I don't like one. But it is. It's a great event. The event is. This says 10 to 5, but I'm pretty sure it ends at 1, doesn't it? [00:32:39] Speaker D: Yeah, 10. 10:30 to 1. [00:32:41] Speaker B: Oh, no, I was looking at the wrong 10:30 to 1. But I will promise some will run out. So I want to share that. [00:32:52] Speaker D: We have, as of right now, 17 teams confirmed. I believe the most out of any year, at least in recent years. So you have at least 17 different Chili's. [00:33:03] Speaker B: That's so awesome. This is like Star Branch is going to be there. [00:33:07] Speaker D: Oh, are they? [00:33:07] Speaker B: Yes, we are. [00:33:08] Speaker A: Well, this is one of the most well attended events we have all year long. I love it. I mean, it's just. I just love, especially when the weather's awesome. [00:33:16] Speaker C: Right. [00:33:16] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. It's just so much fun. And all the booths are decorated up. [00:33:21] Speaker D: Yes. Which. That's also a prize. That's some competition right there too. You can get a prize for the best booth at which everybody votes on. So. [00:33:29] Speaker B: So are you also doing the bake sale as well? [00:33:32] Speaker D: Yes. So they'll have the bake sale. The local churches donate just about any kind of dessert that you could want. [00:33:38] Speaker B: And I think that that is also like the fce. Some of the other groups in town get together and also do it as their contribution as a fundraiser for them of getting together and donating the baked goods. But that's, you know, that's bragging rights right there too. A lot of people are like, ooh, I know who made that coconut cake. So it's a great event. [00:34:07] Speaker C: Event. [00:34:07] Speaker D: Yes. We're very, very excited. If I could just thank Our sponsors. [00:34:10] Speaker A: Yes, please do. [00:34:13] Speaker D: Yes. I just want to say thank you to Ranger Brig A heating and cooling, Smith Port Cabinetry, Star Holdings Group, Smithville Marine, DTC Communications, Glenn's Auto Sales, DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Gorilla Trailer, Ascension St. Thomas, Gammon, Druig Watson, Curtis Supply, DeKalb County Florist, DeKalb Title. And of course, a big thank you to call Excellent and water. So you can just see how many people. It takes a lot of sponsors, you [00:34:38] Speaker A: know, remember that all these people who sponsor so many things, all these businesses, we're so grateful because I know in a small town, everybody comes to you and we're just so grateful how you help out. [00:34:49] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:34:50] Speaker E: Do they put Tums and Rolaids in the cups, too, when you get up? They do. That would be really great. [00:34:55] Speaker B: Fire Department. Somebody always has Tums. Because they know we're delicate. Well, thank you for putting on such a wonderful community event and for a great cause, because we know Habitat for Humanity has been in DeKalb County a long time, but it's really wonderful to have it continue and to know that there's a house that's, you know, we can actually see it and feel it and. And know that it's happening. That's really great. [00:35:28] Speaker D: Yes. Well, we couldn't obviously do it without the community, so it takes everybody coming out to events like this for us to be able to do that. And we're very thankful for this great community. [00:35:38] Speaker A: Thank you, Katie. [00:35:39] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:35:40] Speaker B: You should come back another time and tell us how the. You know, we'd love it. [00:35:44] Speaker A: Just let me know. [00:35:45] Speaker D: Let them know how you would. [00:35:46] Speaker A: Okay, let's put that down, Jen. We'll put it down for next month. Okay? [00:35:49] Speaker D: Thank you guys so much. [00:35:50] Speaker A: Okay. Okay, Brother Chad, we're gonna let you talk about the next thing coming up. [00:35:55] Speaker B: See, she took the mugs. I was hoping she'd forget them. [00:35:59] Speaker A: She would leave if you left. $25. [00:36:01] Speaker F: Now. [00:36:02] Speaker E: Now you have to go. [00:36:05] Speaker A: You just wanted one little purple mug. She'll be all right. You'll be all right. Okay, Brother Chad, I'm gonna let you go with the next thing, cuz this is like. This is really an awesome thing. [00:36:16] Speaker E: Yeah, the off the Beaten Path tour. They do a lot of good stuff right downtown. Everything. You always see the sign as you're driving by, like. And it's like, hey, this is. Yes, it's always there. So Friday, October 23rd to Sunday, October 25th. This is the one that's 10:00am to 5. [00:36:33] Speaker A: Got it, Jen. [00:36:34] Speaker B: There. [00:36:34] Speaker E: So. [00:36:35] Speaker A: Yes. [00:36:35] Speaker E: And Is it? So it takes place here and Warren County. Is that correct? And Canon. Okay, wow. So three counties in one. So there you go. [00:36:43] Speaker A: Mostly in the cap, we're going to say. I don't know. [00:36:45] Speaker E: Cool thing is you get to meet so many different people that you would never usually meet Artists studio. You could see the demonstrations to see how it actually is made. That's impressive. [00:36:57] Speaker B: Showing off what they do. [00:36:58] Speaker E: They always know where they go there. [00:37:00] Speaker A: You don't normally get to go and see what they do in person. You get to buy their stuff, but you don't get to go see. [00:37:05] Speaker E: It makes the experience full. Like you get to see the whole thing. That's really cool. Full experience there. So. Yes. So more information. Check it [email protected]. that's all. All one really long word. So off the beaten path tour dot com. So that's going on. Everything's right there. [00:37:23] Speaker A: Everything's there. [00:37:24] Speaker B: And it's a great time to be buying those one of a kind Christmas presents. [00:37:29] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:37:30] Speaker B: Right around the corner. And. And it's also a fabulous time to be driving around. Thousand dollars of. Of DeKalb County. Yeah. Gives you a reason to get off the beaten path. [00:37:42] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:37:42] Speaker D: Yep. [00:37:43] Speaker E: Yep. [00:37:44] Speaker B: Okay. [00:37:44] Speaker A: Oh, now we're about to talk about the end of the month stuff. [00:37:47] Speaker C: Yes. [00:37:48] Speaker A: We got Friday, Halloween Friday at the fairgrounds is coming up first. And we know what fairgrounds that is. Our very own DeKalb County Fairgrounds in Alexandria. And I hear that is, like, so well attended. It's like crazy amounts of people and kids there. That's October 24th from 5 to 7 at the DeKalb County Fairground. [00:38:09] Speaker D: Friends. [00:38:09] Speaker A: I said lots of candy and lots of food trucks. [00:38:11] Speaker D: Yes. [00:38:12] Speaker A: And it's a big event. Honestly, this is kind of neat. You know, we've got one event on the 24th, one on the 30th, one on the 30th. These kids are gonna have way too much candy. So anyway, the dentists are gonna be tickled. [00:38:23] Speaker B: Yeah, the dentist will be happy. I got an email from Monarch Watch, which is the big fundraiser for national. For the monarch butterflies. [00:38:33] Speaker A: Okay. [00:38:34] Speaker B: And they said, this year, hand out monarch or movie milkweed seeds, because that's what monarch butterflies need. Milkweed is the only plant that monarch butterflies. Oh, that's making more sense. [00:38:51] Speaker E: Okay. Yeah. [00:38:51] Speaker B: Put their eggs and then that's the [00:38:54] Speaker E: only plant dispensary over here. [00:38:57] Speaker B: Koala bears and eucalyptus trees. They have to be, you know, it's the only plant. And I thought, wait a second. Can you Imagine that little kid sorting through and getting a little packet of seeds, thinking, these are ugly. Small sunflower seeds don't really taste very good. [00:39:15] Speaker E: It's like when you get apples and oranges in your Christmas stocking. [00:39:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:39:18] Speaker E: It's like, thanks. [00:39:20] Speaker A: Just me. [00:39:21] Speaker E: That's right. [00:39:22] Speaker A: Why don't you put some socks in there too? Okay. Well, since we've left the fried at the fairgrounds, then we're going over to the 15th annual. 15th annual can you believe it? [00:39:33] Speaker C: Boo. [00:39:33] Speaker A: Bash for downtown. Downtown Smithville Friday, October 30 Randy already mentioned this, but due to 5pm at the DeKalb County. Oh, I've got DeKalb County Complex there, but you know, that's where I think it is. [00:39:44] Speaker B: Everywhere. [00:39:44] Speaker A: It's everywhere. It's all downtown. It's at the courthouse, it's at the Smithville City Hall. All so many participating. [00:39:52] Speaker B: Lots of businesses participate. And this is a great opportunity for people to come into a safe zone. A lot of times at the Christmas on the Square, it's, it's geared toward retail and a lot of the downtown events are the retail and food locations. But this is, you know, we have lots of business. We have lots of lawyers and CPAs and lots of services downtown. [00:40:20] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:40:20] Speaker B: And so it really opens up all of. All of downtown for people to not have to worry about traffic, not having to worry about walking too far from one place to the next. And. And it's a really neat thing. All you have to do is just look for the orange pumpkin in the window and then you'll know whether that [00:40:39] Speaker A: business is everybody goes all out with the decorations, with the costumes, with the set design. I mean, it go. I mean, it's all hush hush at the Smithville City Hall. They want to let me know. And he's like, oh, I don't know what their theme is. They won't tell me. I'm like, I don't tell anybody anything. You will not find anybody in town that's ever heard me say. [00:41:01] Speaker B: They just hear that you're a blabber. And so they're just not gonna tell. [00:41:04] Speaker A: I never say anything. And they know that. They just want me to have the wow factor when I walk in. [00:41:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:10] Speaker A: So anyway. But I've seen sort of the skeleton of the, of the, you know, what they're building. I have no clue what their theme is. I'm so excited though. But who knows what all the others are doing. The courthouse is always amazing. All the downtown people and it's very fun county complex. So come to all these Places, they put a whole lot of time and effort and money, I'm sure, into getting these things done. So it's going to be a blast. And that's the day actually before Halloween on Friday the 30th, from 2 to 5. So. Oh, and I got to mention, though, for now, this isn't for just for kids or anything. This is. This is for just the businesses and offices. The chambers, again, going to have their contest for the best costumes and the best decorations. Because we had to split it up. It was impossible to judge. We had so many good ones. So probably do first, second, and third in both those categories. So I can have lots of winners. But, I mean, they just all deserve it. It's amazing the time and effort they go through. So they deserve, you know me, I'm a cheapskate. They get their pitches in the paper and on wjle they get bragging rights. I may try to see if I can find some trophies. [00:42:15] Speaker F: I don't know. [00:42:15] Speaker E: Winner. Winner. [00:42:16] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:42:16] Speaker A: So anyway, but they. They deserve it for all the work they put in. So, anyway, we're excited about that, and [00:42:22] Speaker B: we want to say a huge thank you to Beth and the Smithville Police Department for being the ones to initiate the event. [00:42:29] Speaker A: They started this years ago. [00:42:30] Speaker B: From the very beginning, they passed the ball over to. It's a. You know, now it's gotten bigger and more people are involved in and making it get put on. [00:42:41] Speaker A: But it was a great idea. [00:42:42] Speaker B: It's a great idea. And we, you know, something you're talking [00:42:45] Speaker A: about Beth Edcock over at the Smithle. You said, Beth, there's more than one bath. [00:42:49] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Now, I gotta be specific. Yeah, But. But we also want to say a big, huge shout out to all the downtown businesses and individuals who participate in this, because it's just gotten bigger and better every year. [00:43:04] Speaker A: Well, and then brother Chad, he wants to make sure we have something on [00:43:07] Speaker E: October 31st on the actual day. And that's what I love about all these events. You know, you can take somewhere your kids, somewhere safe. [00:43:15] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:43:15] Speaker E: You know, and you could have a good family time. Our event is at our. Is in our gym at First Baptist over there. We've done this nine years, 10 years in a row. So, like, we're right there with it. But we've really enjoyed doing it. We have inflatables indoors. We have food for the whole family indoors. So there's absolutely zero cost has come. We'll have candy, games, all kinds of stuff in the gym. So we're just really excited about it. We've done it every year. Wonderful time just for the whole family to come. And again, all these are just a good time just for safe family. I, I even, I live in a good neighborhood that has a lot of foot traffic. But some of the, some of you get around the town, it can be hard. There's not a lot of light sometimes and out in the county. So. So this way, you know, it's safe. You know it's good. And you might even get some sneaker bars out of it, too. So. [00:44:04] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:44:04] Speaker E: So there you go. [00:44:06] Speaker B: And an invitation to a fabulous church. [00:44:08] Speaker E: That's right. Yeah. I mean we always do that. We, we want everybody just be plugged in a church, whatever that is. But we always are open. Ours is at five to seven on that day, so. And it has a wonderful time open the whole community. So. [00:44:19] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:44:19] Speaker A: And this is at the Life Enrichment center at First Baptist. [00:44:23] Speaker E: That's it. That's it. [00:44:24] Speaker A: What was the time again on that? [00:44:25] Speaker E: That one? Five to seven. Five to seven on Halloween. So just as it's getting dark. [00:44:29] Speaker A: So yeah, Jen, I know you're going to hog all the steam on this [00:44:33] Speaker B: next one because it's leadership decab. [00:44:36] Speaker A: You deserve it though. You put the time and effort in. I, I take care of a few little things. You do all the bulk. You and Lee, you said I'm. [00:44:43] Speaker B: So I, I sent Lee a text the next day and said thanks for letting me come and just do all the fun stuff because Lee's the one that's just like stuck on the water, just frantically, frantically getting all of the pieces together. [00:44:55] Speaker A: We have a huge class though. [00:44:57] Speaker B: Yeah, fantastic class. And I would like to take just a minute if we can. So first off, our opening session was this last Tuesday, a week ago Tuesday. And our sponsors were Middle Tennessee Natural Gas. [00:45:11] Speaker A: Yes. [00:45:11] Speaker B: Evans Mill Conference center and Retreat. And they have just expanded. So we got to, we got to tour there. [00:45:19] Speaker A: Beautiful, beautiful there. [00:45:20] Speaker E: Pictures online that you guys posted were pretty nice. [00:45:23] Speaker B: Evans Mill is large or small, whatever event or family gathering. You've got weddings, they do all kinds of stuff. Such a gem. And then we also spent the afternoon at the Appalachian center for Craft. And so we want to thank all three of our sponsors, Evans Mill and the Appalachian center for Craft for their hosting and Middle Tennessee Natural Gas for their sponsorship. And here are class participants. [00:45:50] Speaker E: I gotta be. Drumroll. [00:45:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Kane and Bain with Star Brands. Dawson Bandy with Middle Tennessee Natural Gas. Shelby Driver, one of our two high school students. Wes Fanning, well Worth Bank. Tatiana Fisk, our other high school student. Mackenzie Gash of McKenzie's Off Broad Restaurant. Davey Horton of Hortons Inspection Services. Maddie Kinney who is with Banner Built Homes. Jonathan Puckett with DTC Communications, Axel Rico of Wilson bank and Trust. Philip Seagraves of Griffin's Produce. And he's also a professor at mtsu. Really very, you know, we're, we're glad to have everyone but Phillips got a very interesting history and addition into our community now. And Michaela Young who is with UT Extension. Oh, so lots of. It's just, you know, everything that we hope for with the leadership DeKalb. We do ask how many people know more than three people in the room. And we only had one or two people, people who raised their hand. So to me, the, the greatest recruiting class would be one where no one knew anyone because then we're actually recruiting far and wide diverse leaders who want to invest in into DeKalb county and Smithville. So off to a great start. Maybe the best class ever. And we also are looking forward to our next session coming up, which is already in the works. Steve Cantrell is our host for that day and we'll go to new frontiers. We'll tell you all about it next time. [00:47:49] Speaker A: Well, you know, I'm thinking, Jan, maybe when we get further into the, you know, the year, maybe into January, February, we'll have one of their students come in and tell how their spirit is going so far. I love that because we, we talk about it. [00:48:06] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:48:06] Speaker A: But. [00:48:07] Speaker B: Oh, that would be great. [00:48:08] Speaker A: And tell them to tell the truth. Yeah, sort of. [00:48:12] Speaker B: We got tough skin. We can take it. [00:48:14] Speaker A: We can take it. [00:48:15] Speaker B: If you're having a horrible time, you know, not that, but, you know, they [00:48:18] Speaker A: always say they've learned so much. There was things they did not know anything, you know, they just didn't know they didn't know it. But there's so many things you just don't realize that behind the scenes and what's going on. [00:48:29] Speaker B: Right. [00:48:30] Speaker A: And all that stuff. So anyway, we'll have to have. I'll let you pick one out and we'll see who we give you. [00:48:35] Speaker B: We'll do it. [00:48:36] Speaker A: So anyway, you know, we missed Coco this morning. Katie hit it. So she had a meeting. [00:48:43] Speaker B: I was double checking to make sure I know Ed Graven State park has their fall cruise. Oh, yes. And they have a big event coming up in November for the lighting of the tower. All of that. So a few things coming up that if anyone's interested, check out their website. This is the time of year to get outside and, and it's just beautiful there. [00:49:08] Speaker E: Go take a hike. See the mountains, see the trees, all of it. [00:49:12] Speaker B: Brother Chad, you go take a hike. [00:49:14] Speaker E: I am. [00:49:14] Speaker F: I'm going. [00:49:15] Speaker E: We're doing one next month. Oh, yeah. So. [00:49:18] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:49:18] Speaker A: Hey, so didn't some of you go to Germany? [00:49:21] Speaker E: We did. We just got back from Germany about two, three weeks ago. So I've been like a mission trip kind of thing. We had a wonderful mission trip there, working with a. Several church plants over in Cologne, Germany. So I had a wonderful time doing that. And we're actually heading to. I get to miss. I. I'm going to miss some of these things because we'll be up in Detroit next week doing a wonderful time, just doing a mission plant up there as well, too. So. So. And then we got other stuff, you know, just like all these things. Like we'll be our community days coming up in November where we pass out food to the whole community. [00:49:55] Speaker F: So for. [00:49:56] Speaker E: And then we got. We didn't say it, but the prayer breakfast is coming up soon. So. [00:50:01] Speaker A: Yes, I was going to talk about that in November, but it is the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I think that's November 19th somewhere around there. Yeah, I think that's right. And we have our speaker. Do you want me to tell you who our speaker is? Yeah, it's going to be our new county mayor, Patrick. [00:50:14] Speaker F: Right? [00:50:14] Speaker E: Hey, there we go. [00:50:16] Speaker B: Yeah, I love it. [00:50:17] Speaker A: Anyway, we're very excited about that. [00:50:19] Speaker B: So I don't think he's ever done it as sheriff or otherwise. [00:50:24] Speaker E: I think he was always busy. Like, he was like, doing like, sheriff stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like protecting the county or something. [00:50:32] Speaker B: Who knew that? That's a great thing. Because we really do want this to be a community event. We always try and. And seek a true leader of our community. And I can think of no one closer to. [00:50:46] Speaker E: He's got a great testimony, too. A great testimony. So. [00:50:48] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:50:49] Speaker A: Well, I just love working with him. I've been working with him for years because of him being sheriff and just the best relationship there. And he's so easy to work with and I love him as county mayor, so I'm so grateful. And then we were talking as a chamber board and his name came up and we all went. And then I put Isaac Gray into. I said, go talk to him. [00:51:11] Speaker E: Go get him. [00:51:12] Speaker A: Can't say no to a pastor. And so anyway, he said he'd be glad to. So we're very excited about that. But we'll be talking about that a lot in our next program on November 4th. Okay. So remember, if you have an upcoming event to promote, just go to our website at visit decabtn.com, click on info, then calendar events and you could edit it or just send the message to me and I'll do it for you. We have had so much fun. We are grateful to WJLE Radio and DTC TV for putting up with us. I mean, sponsoring the Chamber chat month after month. We really do appreciate it. [00:52:30] Speaker A: Do you think that was sarcasm? I'm not sure. He's a pastor. That was probably just true from his heart. [00:52:35] Speaker E: It's a spiritual gift. [00:52:36] Speaker B: Sarcastic. [00:52:37] Speaker A: Well, we appreciate all our listening and viewing audiences and hope you tune in next month. Same chat time, same chat channel. Thanks for joining us and happy fall, y'. [00:52:47] Speaker D: All. [00:52:54] Speaker B: Sa.
